SERVING
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Serving is a major focus for our church family. We donate funds, time, and talents to outreach and services to anyone who has a need. We:
-
Opened our doors to victims of fire
-
Filled and distributed pouches to the homeless.
-
Support the Belen Food Pantry with volunteers, food stuffs and funds.
-
Provided funding support for the Menaul School in Albuquerque
-
Host a Good Friday water station for those making the pilgrimage up Tome Hill.
-
Donated coats, shoes, and socks to local schools when needed.

HUNGER MINISTRIES
The Deacons are the engine driving the church’s support of needy families during the holidays. They gather food; fill holiday baskets which contain a complete turkey dinners with all the trimming for large families. Our congregation also provides substantial funding and food stuffs to the Belen Area Food Pantry.

New Mexico Ramp Project
VISION

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

Volunteer Handymen, Drivers, and Shoppers offer their services to the elderly and others in need of help.
-
Handymen assist with normal house maintenance and repairs.
-
Drivers assist with transportation needs like getting to medical appointments.
-
Shoppers assist with grocery shopping needs.
-
The church also serves needy pilgrims passing through the area with our Pastor’s Discretionary Fund.

BACKPACKS FOR SCHOOL

Each year, volunteers fill backpacks with supplies for students K-12. Beginning in August, and continuing monthly, food for the weekends was delivered to La Merced Elementary School.

HOMELESS POUCHES
We are working to help homeless persons we see soliciting on street corners. Our goal is to make a needy person's life better if only for a day. With the help of a community sociologist, we developed a pouch containing 22 items which address the immediate nutrition, hygiene, comfort, living, and entertainment needs of the homeless. We make the pouches and stock them. Pouches are kept in our cars and passed during travels. Want to show God's love in a tangible way and make the life of a needy person a little better? We did it 670 times since 2013. Come join us!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are lots of ways to get involved and contribute.
The church will conduct a fall Arts and Crafts sale October 18 & 19, 2024 from 9a, to 3pm. The Stringers Quilt group has made a quilt to raffle off that weekend and there is a beautiful wooden vase donated by one of our members. Raffle tickets for the quilt are $2 each or 3 for $5 and for the vase tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. This event is the major funding source for our community outreach activities.

One of our Community Outreach projects is the NM Ramp Project. We have a team of volunteers from this church and others in the community who build and install ramps, at no cost, for those with mobility issues in Valencia County. Please go to NMRamp.org for additional information and application.
