Other Happenings

- Trash-to-Treasure Sale:   We are still trying to come up with a plan.  If you have ideas or would like to help on our committee, please contact Donna Calkins.

-  We still have homeless bags for you all to pass out.  If you are uncomfortable coming to the church and picking them up, please let me know and I will take some to your doorstep and leave them for you.

- The first distribution to La Merced for their Backpack Program has been made.  This month we will be supporting 7 children with food supplies for the weekends.  Will continue to work with Miss Rachel to continue the program.

- The community quilt has been completed and we are now raffling it off to help support the Backpack Program.  Tickets are $2 for 1 ticket and $5 for 3 tickets.  Please contact Donna Calkins or the office, 1st Presbyterian Church - Belen, 505-864-4560, to buy tickets.  Last day to buy tickets is November 14th.  The size is approximately 98" by 88".  Thank you to the lovely ladies from the Stringers Quilting group, which meets at the church on the 2nd Saturday of each month. The quilters range  from artisan to beginners.  All are welcome, just drop in during meeting days.

A view of how the Sanctuary seating has been modified for social distancing with seating for individuals and families.  Also, the order of service has been altered to preclude touching, and we are following state guidelines on cleanliness, wearing masks and the number of people in attendance.

The church has upped its game on streaming.  We now have a high grade streaming system with cameras, sound equipment, mixer, etc. Check us out Sundays at 10:00 a.m. on YouTube

As a caring, intergenerational, and diverse community of faith, inspired by the Holy Spirit, we seek to serve God by living out the good news of Christ, and reflecting that love, grace, and acceptance to our community and world.
